American business man Jim Thomson was largely responsible  for the world wild popularity of Thai silk. His love for Thai crafts and cultures, However, was not purely directed toward silk and his house is treatment to his commitment to maintaining and cerebrating Thai art and culture. Over the years his frame has spread, in part dues of his mysterious disappearance in Malaysia 1967 when over the Easter weekend retreat he went out walking in the Cameroon Highlands and never returned, inspiring conspiratorial myths and sealing the legend. At the time of his disappearance Jim Thomson had lived in Thailand for nearly 22 years. The Jim Thomson complex house six traditional teak houses from around the country, each tastefully decorated with art pieces and antiques from around southeast Asia. There’s also shop selling his trademark silk design and small café.
